The High-Impact EA: Building Influence, Boundaries and Career Currency

Led by: Claire Seeber

This full-day masterclass will be held on Tuesday 20 July 2027

ABOUT YOUR MASTERCLASS

Today’s most effective Executive Assistants are no longer measured simply by how much they can manage, absorb or get through in a day. The real opportunity lies in building the influence, confidence and strategic judgement to contribute at a higher level, while protecting the focus, boundaries and relationships that make sustained high performance possible.

In this practical and highly interactive masterclass, Claire Seeber will help EAs examine what it means to build genuine “career currency”: the trust, reputation, relationships and value that allow them to have greater impact within their executive partnerships and across the wider business. Participants will explore how to set strategic boundaries, communicate their value without feeling self-promotional, map and strengthen key workplace relationships, and identify the areas where their contribution can become more visible, influential and commercially relevant.

Designed specifically for modern EAs who want to move beyond being busy and become more deliberate in the way they shape their role, this session will provide practical tools, reflective exercises and real-world strategies to help participants build stronger professional confidence, increase their influence, and take greater ownership of their career trajectory.

MASTERCLASS AGENDA

8.30 Registration and welcome coffee

9.00 Session 1: Building your career currency

Being valuable at work is about more than being busy, dependable or capable. The EAs who create the greatest impact build strong “career currency”: the trust, reputation, judgement and professional credibility that give them influence and open up opportunities.

This opening session will help you take stock of the value you already bring, understand how others experience your contribution and identify where you can strengthen the professional currency that supports long-term career growth.

  • Understand what “career currency” means and why it matters
  • Identify the strengths, behaviours and qualities that underpin your professional reputation
  • Explore the difference between being busy and being genuinely valuable
  • Recognise where your contribution is already creating impact
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen your visibility, credibility and strategic value

10.30 Morning coffee

11.00 Session 2: Relationships, influence and the power of your network

EAs operate at the intersection of people, information and decisions. The quality of your relationships can therefore have an enormous impact on your ability to get things done, solve problems and influence outcomes.

In this session, you will examine the relationships that matter most to your success and explore how to strengthen trust, communication and influence across your executive partnership and the wider organisation.

  • Map the key relationships that influence your effectiveness
  • Strengthen trust and credibility with executives and stakeholders
  • Understand how to build influence without relying on formal authority
  • Identify relationships that need greater attention or investment
  • Communicate more deliberately across different personalities and priorities
  • Build a stronger professional network inside your organisation

12.30 Lunch break

1.30 Session 3: Strategic boundaries – protecting your capacity and your contribution

Being helpful is fundamental to the EA role, but constantly absorbing more work is not the same as adding more value.

This session will explore how stronger boundaries can improve focus, performance and professional relationships. You will consider where your time and energy are currently going, how to distinguish between genuinely important work and work you have inherited, and how to communicate boundaries in ways that support rather than undermine your relationships.

  • Identify where competing demands are diluting your highest-value contribution
  • Become more deliberate about where you invest your time and attention
  • Develop greater confidence in communicating priorities and limits
  • Protect the focus required for sustained high performance
  • Create more capacity for work that is strategically valuable

3.00 Afternoon tea

3.15 Session 4: Owning your value and shaping what comes next

The final session will help you become more intentional about the career you are building. The session will explore how to communicate your contribution without feeling like you’re promoting yourself, as well as looking at ways to make your impact more visible and identify practical opportunities to expand your role, influence and commercial relevance.

  • Learn how to articulate your value with confidence and authenticity
  • Make your contribution more visible without feeling self-promotional
  • Identify opportunities to increase your strategic and commercial impact
  • Take greater ownership of your professional development and career direction
  • Define what you want the next stage of your role or career to look like
  • Leave with practical actions to strengthen your career currency after the masterclass

4.30 Cool down / close

The masterclass will be conducted using a combination of presentation material and group exercises; maximising your learning potential. Please note that the masterclass content will be tailored to participants’ individual needs so the length of each session may vary. Refreshments will be served at appropriate times, including morning and afternoon teas and lunch.

The Future-Ready EA: Using AI to Work Smarter, Think Better and Add More Value

Led by: Blythe Rowe

This full-day masterclass will be held on Thursday 22 July 2027

ABOUT YOUR MASTERCLASS

AI is rapidly changing the way we work, but for Executive Assistants, the opportunities will come from learning how to use AI as a practical advantage: to reduce repetitive work, improve preparation, strengthen follow-through, support better decision-making and create more space for higher-value contribution.

In this practical and highly interactive masterclass, Blythe Rowe will help EAs move beyond the overwhelm, uncertainty and surface-level use of AI and begin applying it in ways that are genuinely useful to their role.

Participants will explore how to give AI the right context, ask better questions, build smarter workflows, prepare for meetings more effectively, draft and refine communications, manage competing priorities, and use AI as a thinking partner, while remaining firmly in control of quality, confidentiality and judgement.

Designed specifically for modern EAs who want to stay relevant, confident and valuable in a fast-changing workplace, this session will provide real-world tools, guided activities and practical examples that participants can take back to work immediately.

Rather than treating AI as a gimmick or a technical add-on, this masterclass will show EAs how to make technology work for them, helping them become more prepared, more proactive and more strategically valuable in the way they support their executives and organisations.

ABOUT YOUR MASTERCLASS LEADER – BLYTHE ROWE

Blythe Rowe is a leadership specialist, executive coach, keynote speaker and the Founder & CEO of Human Incite. Known for her energy, humour and practical, straight-talking style, Blythe works with organisations to build stronger leaders, more connected teams and cultures where people are equipped to speak up, adapt and perform under pressure.

With more than 25 years’ experience working in and alongside organisations, Blythe brings a deeply practical understanding of what it takes to navigate change, complexity and uncertainty. Her work draws on neuroscience, behavioural change, leadership development and real-world organisational experience, helping people move beyond awareness and into action with tools they can apply immediately.

A long-standing favourite with Corporate PA Summit audiences, Blythe has a particular ability to translate big workplace shifts into relevant, useful and energising learning experiences. Her recent work has explored how professionals can build “change-fitness” in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world, moving from change fatigue to greater confidence, resourcefulness and adaptability.

In this masterclass, Blythe brings that same practical lens to one of the biggest shifts now reshaping the EA role: artificial intelligence. Rather than treating AI as a gimmick or a threat, Blythe will help participants understand how to approach technology with curiosity, confidence and judgement – using it to work smarter, think better and create more space for higher-value executive support.

MASTERCLASS AGENDA

8.30 Registration and welcome coffee

9.00 Session 1: Make AI understand your world and building the right context

One of the biggest reasons AI produces generic or disappointing results is that it doesn’t know enough about you, your role or the environment you work in.

This opening session will help you move beyond treating AI like a sophisticated search engine and begin setting it up as a more useful working partner. You’ll explore the context that matters, including your responsibilities, priorities, communication style, executive relationship and organisational environment – and how giving AI a clearer picture of your world can dramatically improve what it gives back.

Blythe will introduce the concept of creating your own brand iOS: a practical foundation that helps AI better understand how you work and what good looks like for you.

  • Understand why context is essential to getting genuinely useful results from AI
  • Identify the information AI needs to better understand your role and working environment
  • Begin building your own Brand iOS to create more relevant and personalised outputs
  • Explore how different EAs are already using AI and where the greatest opportunities may lie
  • Identify practical areas within your own role where AI could save time or improve effectiveness
  • Establish a stronger foundation for everything you ask AI to do throughout the day

10.30 Morning coffee

11.00 Session 2: Mastering prompting – using the BRIEF Framework

In this session, Blythe will introduce her BRIEF framework for structuring requests before AI produces anything. Rather than relying on trial and error or endlessly rewriting vague prompts, you’ll learn a repeatable process for giving AI clearer direction, stronger context and more useful parameters.

Working with realistic EA scenarios, you’ll practise turning everyday requests into stronger prompts and see first-hand how seemingly small changes can dramatically improve the quality and usefulness of the response.

  • Learn the BRIEF Framework for structuring more effective AI prompts
  • Move beyond basic, one-line prompting towards clearer and more purposeful instructions
  • Practise prompting using real-world EA tasks and challenges
  • Learn how to refine an AI response rather than continually starting again
  • Explore ways to tailor prompts to different outcomes, audiences and communication styles
  • Build reusable approaches you can take back and apply immediately in your own role

12.30 Lunch break

1.30 Session 3: Beyond the task list – using AI as your coach, researcher and devil’s advocate

Used well, AI can become a valuable thinking partner – helping you research unfamiliar subjects, prepare for important conversations, test your assumptions, organise competing priorities and look at problems from perspectives you may not have considered.

In this session, Blythe will explore practical ways EAs can use AI as a researcher, coach and devil’s advocate, shifting the focus from simply getting tasks done faster to supporting better preparation, thinking and decision-making. You’ll work through practical applications that reflect the breadth of the modern EA role and identify where AI could add genuine value in your own day-to-day work.

  • Use AI as a researcher to gather, organise and make sense of information
  • Explore how AI can act as a coach to help you prepare, reflect and work through challenges
  • Use AI as a devil’s advocate to test assumptions and uncover alternative perspectives
  • Strengthen meeting preparation, communications and follow-through
  • Use AI to think through competing priorities and complex situations
  • Identify where AI can create capacity for more proactive, higher-value contribution

3.15 Session 4: Trust but verify – quality, judgement and building your AI playbook

The final session focuses on what happens after AI has produced its output. Blythe will introduce the TRUST filter – a practical approach to output discipline that helps you assess, question and refine what AI gives you rather than accepting it at face value. You’ll explore the continuing importance of accuracy, confidentiality, judgement, tone and human oversight, before bringing the learning from the day together into a practical approach you can continue developing back at work.

The session will also create space for a structured exchange of useful tools, approaches and lessons from across the room, giving participants exposure to different ways EAs are putting AI to work without relying on unstructured group discussion.

  • Apply the TRUST filter to assess and strengthen AI-generated outputs
  • Know what to check before relying on, sharing or acting on AI-generated information
  • Maintain human judgement, confidentiality and appropriate oversight
  • Learn from practical tools, tips and applications being used by other EAs
  • Identify the AI approaches most relevant to your own role and level of experience
  • Create a practical personal AI playbook to continue testing, refining and building after the masterclass

4.30 Cool down / close

The masterclass will be conducted using a combination of presentation material and group exercises; maximising your learning potential. Please note that the masterclass content will be tailored to participants’ individual needs so the length of each session may vary.
